There are two items to consider when administering benchmark screeners. Is the testing window open, and are the tests being given on-grade level?
Testing Windows
There is a date setting when benchmark tests can be administered. The district easyCBM Head Admin sets the benchmark windows for the entire district at the beginning of the school year. Students are only allowed to take a benchmark assessment, on grade level, during open benchmark windows. Only one benchmark window at a time can be open.
On-grade Testing
The easyCBM system is designed for benchmark assessments to be given at a student’s actual grade level (progress monitoring measures can be used off-grade level). When the testing window is open, students go to the district’s unique easyCBM home page and choose “Students Click Here.” They enter the teacher’s username and have access to all on-grade benchmark tests the district assigned. The program will not offer benchmark tests to students other than their designated grade level. All measures are designated for grades K-8th grade.
